Laser Air Defiance System Laser Air Defiance System (LADS) is a revolutionary new technology that is being developed to provide a more effective way of defending against aerial threats. LADS works by using high-powered lasers to track and down incoming aircraft, missiles and other airborne targets. The lasers are mounted on a directed-energy platform, typically an aircraft or ground-based system, and they can be used to detect, track and destroy incoming threats. Fig 1.
